Governance

The Religion Media Centre is an impartial space. Its staff will be appointed for their expertise and ability to engage with journalists, drawn from any faith background or none.

The RMC will brief journalists from non-specialist backgrounds on the context of a particular issue in the news and provide easier access for journalists to reputable sources of expertise and ranges of opinion on a particular topic. It will be transparent about the background and denominational affiliation of any contact.

The RMC will preserve its independence by seeking funding from a broad base, reflecting Britain’s religious diversity. As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered with the Charity Commission, we will seek capped donations from, for example, charities, foundations, governments and other public bodies, media groups, professional associations, religious institutions and universities. Contributions are sought for the common good of the coverage of religion as a whole.
