Community Reporting Award for Young Journalists

In order to encourage the highest editorial and journalistic standards in the reporting of stories about religion, the Religion Media Centre presented a prize worth £500 to young journalists who had shown excellent knowledge and skill in reporting communities and religious life, in the 12 months leading up to and including 31 August 2026.
The entries will be reviewed and a shortlist made by the Religion Media Centre team, and the winner chosen from the shortlist by a panel of experienced religious reporters.
Criteria
- The journalist must be under 35 years of age on 31 August 2026
- All forms of media accepted, the more the better: newspaper, radio, podcast, TV/video report, social media
- The entry must be no less than 1000 words or 2 minutes of run time
- The content can be on a story about religion, broadly defined
- Entries must be endorsed by the editor/exec from the publisher
- Entries must be published in the period between 1 September 2025 and 31 August 2026
- Entries must be submitted online by midnight on 31 August 2026
