The Queen’s reign has been marked by her spiritual leadership and engagement with faith groups across the spectrum of belief. Her Christian faith has been clear to everyone and her 70 years on the throne have been “a golden era of interfaith dialogue”. In this Religion Media Centre online briefing to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the sacred heart of the monarchy and the influence of her faith on the country is explored. Hosted by Ruth Peacock, the guests are:
- Catherine Pepinster, former Editor of the Tablet, journalist and author of “Defenders of the Faith”, to be published in June
- Stephen Bates, former royal and religion correspondent of The Guardian, and author of “Royalty Inc: Britain’s Best-Known Brand”
- Professor Ian Bradley, Emeritus Professor of Cultural and Spiritual History at the University of St Andrews and author of “God Save the Queen: The Spiritual Heart of the Monarchy”
- Rabbi Jonathan Romain, from Maidenhead “the Queen’s local rabbi”
