2022 was a broken year, with the war in Ukraine, political turmoil in the UK as three prime ministers and countless ministers of state took office, a developing cost of living crisis with people unable to afford food or heat and the death of the Queen after 70 years on the throne. In all these stories, religion ran through like a thread and offered its own high points of engagement during the year. Hosted by Ruth Peacock, the panel making sense of this tumultuous year are:
- Journalists Catherine Pepinster, Rosie Dawson and Julia Bicknell
- Professor Abby Day, Goldsmiths, University of London
- Rev Steve Chalke, founder of the Oasis Charitable Trust
- Dr Katie Kelaidis, on the orthodox in Ukraine
- Dr Krish Kandiah, leader of work with Ukrainian refugees
