In this last Religion Media Centre briefing of 2023, we review the way news about religion made the headlines, including the disputes in the Church of England over safeguarding and same-sex blessings, the Rome synod to include more people in decision-making in the Catholic church, the way faith groups have come together to offer essentials in the cost of living crisis, the impact of the Israel/Hamas war on Jews and Muslims in this country, and the continuing conflict in Ukraine with refugees making a new life here supported by the church.
