Our media briefing this week was on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, including interviews by Richard Allen Greene with Holocaust survivor, Joan Salter; Laura Marks, Chair of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust; and young British musician, Leo Geyer, who has restored and performed the lost music of Auschwitz, found in the camp’s archive. Watch the briefing again or listen to the podcast via links here.

The Times reported that the ‘British Muslim Network’ is to launch next month, designed to liaise with the government on issues of concern such as health and education. It will include well-known people from public life and will end a 16-year period when the UK government has failed to formally engage with Muslim organisations. Times report here.

The Rev Don Cupitt, Anglican priest and philosopher of religion, famous for his radical theology expressed in the TV series and book “The Sea of Faith”, has died aged 90. In his writings and broadcasts, he proposed that a metaphysical God out there had no objective reality and was an invented idea. Instead, he saw religion as a way of living an ethical life with a  humanitarian vision for the world >>

The Rev Lisa Coupland, who was a contestant on the BBC’s programme “The Traitors”, has been talking about her time on the show, saying only prayer got her through it. Despite the lying, she said real friendships were formed and she became, in effect, the unofficial chaplain to the contestants. She reveals all in an interview with Premier Christian News.
