An ecumenical service, simultaneously held in the Temple Church in London and the Roman Catholic co-cathedral in Jerusalem, marked the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, which formed the Nicene Creed. Read Catherine Pepinster’s article here and view an interview on the Council here.

In a landmark decision, two of Britain’s Jewish denominations, the Movement for Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism, have voted to merge, creating a unified body now known as the Movement for Progressive Judaism.

Parish pilgrimages are being revived as a way of helping connect communities with their environment. There has recently been renewed interest in parishes participating in these community treks, so the British Pilgrimage Trust decided to explore and expand the idea. Read Angela Youngman’s report >>


An unmissable event at the intersection of journalism and religion, here are just a handful of the speakers joining us on the day:

We open at 10am with Channel 4 News presenter, Cathy Newman, in conversation with broadcaster Roger Bolton. Cathy Newman won RTS Network Television Journalist of the Year, recognised for exposing John Smyth’s abuse which led to Justin Welby’s resignation.

Poonam Taneja, investigative journalist with BBC News, will chair a panel discussion ‘Muslims in Britain’, discussing their diversity, organisations and issues of common concern, with Dr Azim Ahmed, Akeela Ahmed, Burhan Wazir & Rizwana Hamid.

As head of diversity and inclusion programmes at the Football Association, Dal Darroch will be talking about how faith and football can create an extraordinary synergy that brings people together.
